Under 8's
14/01/01
AWAY to Lakenham Hewitt.
The first fixture of 2001 saw Swaffham field 2 under 8 sides against the emerging Lakenham side. Both sides performed especially well winning all their games.
The club spirit was evident as several players performed better than ever, taking on greater responsibility as the game progressed.
Tries from Marcus, Andrew, Lyndon, Clive, Edward and Will gave Swaffham the edge over a Lakenham side that will surely be a threat in the future with such a great attitude to the game.
Man of the match was Andrew for his leadership in the first game.
Top try scorer was Will with 8.

Home Fixture vs Ely and Norwich
Swaffham returned to winning ways following the previous weeks encounter
with a very large and well rehearsed Norwich side , who's direct tactics made life difficult for all. This game however was different with Swaffham running in the normal high try count but this week, thanks to super human efforts from Man of the Match MARCUS EVANS , the defence was solid and despite excellent pressure from a keen Ely team .
Top try scorer was Will Affleck.
Good all round performances from Big and little Edward's helped secure a win for the last game of Y2K.
19 Nov 2000
Swaffham continued their unbeaten ways winning all the games played
against BECCLES and NORWICH.
Defence this week was better than in the past but to many lapses in
concentration lead to far too many tries against us!
Tackling was however much better with Edward, Adam and Andrew getting
through the bulk of the work.
Top try scorers were Edward McDonough and Will Affleck with 6 & 9
respectively.
Man of the match was Edward McDonough with his best performance of the
season so far.
Congratulations to the whole team on a good team performance.

Away fixture vs Wymondham and Beccles RFC
Firework night and fireworks during the day as Wymondham entertained
both Swaffham and Beccles.
Swaffham continued their winning ways loosing only the first of the four
games played. Late nights, firework parties and general sleepiness lead
to our downfall by the odd try in the very first game but things soon
changed as the unfamiliar feeling of loosing jolted a few awake.
Strong defence from Jack, Adam, Garth and Andrew kept out both the
Beccles and Wymondham attacks, whilst tries from Marcus, Will, Garth
and Andrew gave Swaffham the winning edge.
Jack was awarded Man of the Match for his superb display of non stop
tackling.
A really encouraging performance by all the team.
These two were top try scorers:
